Juvenile Justice Delinquency PreventionTitle II Formula Grant ProgramThe Virgin Islands Law Enforcement Planning Commission (LEPC) through the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJJP), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) is now accepting proposals for funding under the Title II Formula Grants Programs (2019).

OJJDP’s grant awards support local and community efforts to develop effective prevention and intervention programs (2019). and to improve the juvenile justice system. The purposes of the OJJDP program are to (1) support local programs that prevent juvenile involvement in delinquent behavior; (2) to assist local government in promoting public safety by encouraging accountability for acts of juvenile delinquency; (3) to assist local governments in addressing juvenile crime through the provision of technical assistance, research, training, evaluation, and the dissemination of current and relevant information on effective and evidence-based programs and practices for combating juvenile delinquency; and (4) to support a continuum of evidence-based or promising programs (including delinquency prevention, intervention, mental health, behavioral health, and substance abuse treatment, family services, and services for children exposed to violence) that are trauma-informed, reflect the science of adolescent development and are designed to meet the needs of at-risk youth and youth who come into contact with the justice system.

OJJDP funds may be used to implement programs that will be conducted during the 2023 summer months and beyond. The funding level per applicant may be up to $25,000.00.
